Is The Creativ Shop for me?

Our most satisfied customers are small B2B & B2C marketing teams with less than 5 marketers and are in one of the following situations:

1. You're a founder or the founding marketer or just have a ton of strategic, foundational work on your plate. Why don’t I just hire a full-time designer or writer?

That’s certainly worth considering if you have the budget & need. But the average salary for a senior designer (8+ years of experience) is upward of US$100,000 (not counting benefits, onboarding, payroll tax, etc.), so it may not make financial sense if your business has not reach the point to justify the cost, or don't have a steady stream of work for them.

Another thing to keep in mind is that, your budget will be locked into whatever skill set the designer has. When your needs change, you'll have to hire another specialist and may have to let the designer go. 😥

Who runs The Creativ Shop and does the work?

Ether started The Creativ Shop. He and a few of his favorite designers, writers, and developers are the Oompa Loompas behind it.

Ether has worked at agencies, startups, and in corporate world for almost 20 years. He has done everything between production design to creative direction, from managing projects to managing teams. His experience covers branding, marketing design, communication design and visual design.

Having helped multiple growth stage startups & small teams scale design efficiently and effectively, he started The Creativ Shop with the goal of using what he learned to help even more growth stage SMBs scale with quality design that's affordable & effective, while still satisfying his own creative itch.

How would I make design requests?

Simple! You'll get access to a private request board (via Trello). Once you have filled out a request card, mark it as Ready and we’ll start tackling it!

If you have questions at any time, you'd be able to just message us from within the request board and we'd get back to you on the same day; usually within an hour or so.

Everyone new client will get a detailed step-by-step onboarding guide immediately after signing up. If you want a demo first, just schedule a no-obligation call and we'd be happy to walk you through everything!

How many design requests can I submit?

You can submit as many requests as to the queue! 🙌 We'll work on them one by one in the order you submit them. Need to reprioritize? Just rearrange it on your private request board. No emergency calls. No additional fee. Simple!

What’s the turnaround time?

1 to 2 business days turnaround is the average of all the requests we get.

Similar to working with your own full-time senior designer, we can usually turn around simple asks & fixes on the same day.

As for common marketing needs, things like banner ads, social / blog / email images, a landing page, email layout design, a one-pager /sales sheet, etc., with a brief & finalized copy, we're almost always able to turn those around for review in 2 business days or less.

Longform content and more complex projects (an ebook, a presentation deck, a complex infographic, anything involves custom illustrations, motion / video, and development) will take longer: about a week.

The turnaround time also hinges on our client's ability & availability in providing feedback and approval, once we have done our part.

We always let our clients know ASAP if we think a request will take longer than expected, sometimes even before we get started.

If a client tells us ahead of time that an upcoming request has a hard deadline, we will give them a conservative estimate, or let them know if we aren't confident in our ability to deliver, so that they will have ample time to make necessary adjustments or arrangement.

How can you turn things around so quickly without meetings?

It comes down to our obsession with clarity and focus, as well as our decade-plus marketing design experience.

We structure all communication around the following:
1) All requests follow a robust yet simple brief.
2) Communications are done in writing, screen-recording, and audio-recording.
3) Projects are prioritized and tackled one at a time.

This gives us clear objectives and directions on every project, while minimizes confusion & disruption and maximizes focus & quality.

Our experience and numerous studies has long shown that task-switching is the biggest enemy of productivity.

What if I only have one request at the moment?

Clients on our Monthly plan can just pause their subscriptions anytime.

Can you explain the Monthly plan’s pause option?

Sure! The pause option allows you to pause your monthly plan so that you can take full advantage of your subscription at a later time.

For example, you want us to create a small set of ads so that you can run them for a week to see how they perform before doing anything else. Instead of wasting a week's time, you can pause the plan immediately after getting the ads from us, and then resume the plan when you're ready to submit another request.

It's that simple!

What’s the Quarterly & Annual plan’s emergency line?

In case of emergency, our subscribers can get a hold of us and get a response within 2 hours outside our regular business hours (10am–5pm MT).

Emergencies happen and the next business day could be too late! Since our ability to help is much greater with brands / clients that we're most familiar with, we offer this service to our Quarterly & Annual plans subscribers.

What design & delivery tools do you use?

We are highly proficient with the Adobe Creative Cloud apps, Figma, DaVinci Resolve, Notion, Webflow, and the Affinity design suite. We also help clients set up templates in Canva, MS PowerPoint, Apple Keynote, Google Slides, and other similar platforms.

As far as file transfer/delivery, we usually use Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, WeTransfer, and from within Trello. We can also use other platforms you prefer. Just let us know!

What’s the refund policy if I don’t like the service?

We try our best to meet your needs, but due to the custom nature of design, there's no refund.

Are you open for business all year long? Any blackout periods?

Glad you asked! We work to live and there are only a few of us here, so we do take breaks.

We typically close for 2 weeks mid-year and 2 weeks around the end / beginning of the year.

During that time, we won’t be delivering work and will only maintain limited communication with our clients.

Anyone with a subscription overlapping those periods will receive a prorated refund or extended service period. If you have a preference, just let us know.
